Appointments

APPOINTMENTS

We mostly do NOT go by appointments for the medical centre, we only make appointments for specialists, clinics and X-rays. If you cannot keep your appointment please Contact us as soon as possible.

When the Surgery is closed

WHEN THE SURGERY IS CLOSED

For medical attention after-hours please ring our deputising service on 9389 3133.

ACCIDENTS AND EMERGENCY

Always telephone the surgery first. You will then be advised of the suitable action and we will have more precious moments to assist you.

MINOR OPERATIONS

Diathermy, cryotherapy, surgical removal etc. are provided at our centre. We are adjacent to and work closely with Southeastern Sydney Day Surgery Centre which has an operating theatre enabling even quite complex operations.

Home Visit

HOME VISITS

Home visits are made by our doctors in times of emergency or for our patients who are absolutely unable to attend the centre. Unfortunately, unlike services provided at our centres, they are not bulk billed, except for Health Care card holders.

Parking

PARKING

Ample parking is provided on Bunnerong Road or within the council parking area behind our building.

Disabled Access

DISABLED ACCESS

People in wheelchairs can easily access the centre.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

In the interest of good medical care the doctor will normally need to see you for a repeat prescription. The receptionist will always need to check with the doctor whether it will be available without you needing to see the doctor.

Test Results

TEST RESULTS

No results are given over the phone, due to patient confidentiality. Details of results are best discussed by direct consultation with your doctor at a suitable appointment time, as they my require lengthy explanation.

STERILISATION

Our centre is cleaned professionally on a daily basis. All needles and syringes are used only once and then disposed of as clinical waste. All instruments used are professionally sterilised under the strictest controls using the facilities of the adjacent Day Surgery Centre.

Fees

FEES

Many services at the surgery are bulk billed. This does not include travel health, worker's compensation cases, dental care and overseas visitors who are not registered with Medicare.

Complaints and Suggestions

COMPLAINTS AND SUGGESTIONS

If you are unhappy with any aspect of the centre please let us know. We are always looking for ways to improve the efficiency of the practice.

Telephone Calls

TELEPHONE ETHICAL CODE

As you are aware, interruptions during the course of a consultation can be very distracting for both doctor and patient. Most queries are best dealt with by consultation, but if appropriate your doctor will discuss a telephone query with you. If the doctor concerned is consulting your call will be returned as soon as the doctor is free.

Emergency situations of course are no exception, and if you feel you have a serious problem that requires immediate attention, please do not hesitate to call. One of the staff will speak with the doctor or the ambulance service if necessary.
